French performers Groupe F put on a show in the Auckland Domain the other day, for an appreciative crowd of 200000. There was music, fireworks and dudes on stilts with flames coming out of their backpacks.
Blue Pools, near Haast Pass. Not the craziest turquoise we came across in the South Island (more on that later), but very pretty.
And so, to start our coverage from the South Island, here is a shot from iconic Milford Sound. The Sound was experiencing the worst drought on record: 19 days without rain! But while the waterfalls may have been diminished, the scenery still blew us away.
